Who We Are
Our Mission
To see Christ glorified, families strengthened, lives changed and the city transformed by proclaiming the good news of Jesus as king!
Christ the King Anglican Church is a local church in Meridian, Idaho, seeking to worship Jesus, proclaim the gospel, form disciples, and serve our neighbors. We are rooted in Scripture, shaped by historic Christian worship, and committed to building a warm, hospitable church family for the Treasure Valley.
We are a church plant out of Christ the Redeemer Anglican Church in Nampa, which was planted out of Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Boise.
Our Values
-
Everything we say and do is rooted in the person and work of Christ. We study, imitate and follow the King into the world for the sake of the kingdom and hurting. (Colossians 3:17 And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.)
-
We want every spiritual sojourner to feel instantly at home and among family. (Leviticus 19:33-34 ‘When a foreigner resides among you in your land, do not mistreat them. The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the LORD your God.)
-
We want to help each follower of Jesus find his or her calling in God’s greater story of redemption for the good of our city. (Acts 2:46-47 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.)
-
We desire every father and mother to be equipped to be disciple makers at home and every child grown up with vision to be a world changer. (Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go; Even when he is old he will not depart from it.)
-
We do not expect you to leave your brain at the door! We want to engage in the hermeneutic of our culture and current realities with an honest and open conversation with God’s word. (Luke 10:27 He answered, "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind'; and, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.’”)
Our Leadership
-
Reverand Logan Shields was raised in a non religious family and met Jesus at the age of 15 through a youth group at a local church. He felt the call to ministry in His teens and went to Moody Bible Institute to be equipped for cross cultural ministry, feeling a strong call to overseas missions. After finishing His undergrad he met his wife, Abbey, and together they have planted churches in Nashville, Tennessee, and Porto, Portugal. He returned to study during his time in Portugal and holds a Masters in Leadership from Asbury Theological Seminary. He and Abbey have two wonderful daughters.

Reverend Deacon Dr. Catherine Becker is part of six generations of her family who have answered the call to vocational ministry. Catherine holds an undergraduate degree in English from Northwest Nazarene University, a master’s degree in English Literature from Mercy College, and a Ph.D. in English from Idaho State University. In addition to her service at Christ the King Anglican, she feels blessed to serve at her alma mater, Northwest Nazarene University, where she teaches English literature and writing to undergraduate students. Catherine is married to Ryne and they have two beautiful children. In her spare time, she enjoys music, running, cooking, and spending time with her family.

In 2001, my wife Sallie and I felt God calling us to plant a church in Colorado Springs, so we moved here to do so. What began with just me, Sallie, and our sons Mark and Will soon grew into the thriving, vibrant community known as International Anglican Church. Now a bishop, I travel to oversee churches across the west while still being rooted in my home church here at IAC. I am passionate about the gospel and about helping people step into who God has made them to be. I also enjoy making some outstanding barbecue and green chili and playing with my delightful grandchildren, Audrey, Milo and Quincy.

Rev. Kevin Burns is passionate about equipping the saints of God to be who God has called them to be. After discerning a call to pastoral ministry in 2014, he attended Denver Seminary and began serving at a local Anglican parish. He fell in love with the Anglican rhythms of life, liturgy, and prayers, and felt a deep called to serve the body of Christ as a priest through the ministry of Word and Sacrament. He has served at churches in Colorado and Washington before sensing the Lord’s call to Idaho. In addition to formal ministry, Kevin has been a classical Christian humanities teacher since 2019 and is incredibly grateful to live out his call both in the church and the classroom. He and his wife, Amy, have one son who is pure joy, and they love to spend their free time frequenting local coffee shops, getting out in nature, reading, and enjoying all Idaho has to offer.

Amy Burns serves as the Children’s Ministry Director and is passionate about helping children know and love Jesus through the study of Scripture. She began serving in children’s and youth ministry years ago and greatly enjoys walking alongside children and their families as they grow in faith. She is especially grateful for opportunities to help young people see how God’s truth shapes every part of life.
Alongside her work in children’s ministry, Amy teaches humanities at a classical Christian school, where she seeks to cultivate truth, beauty, and goodness in her students. She considers it a joy to nurture the hearts and minds of young people in both the classroom and the church. She and her husband, Kevin, have a son who keeps life full of joy and laughter. They love spending time outdoors, drinking good coffee, and reading together.
